Minimum requirements:
A bachelor’s degree or comparable practical experience is required.
Experience with business growth, negotiations, and/or partner management is preferred.
Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa’s media, telecommunications, or technology sectors.
Fluency in speaking and writing in English.
Qualifications preferred:
Working knowledge of the Search ecosystem/industry.
Experience as a strategic thought-leader in business development, partnerships, product management, general management, and/or sales is preferred.
Worked successfully with cross-functional teams and built excellent ties across departments.
Sales, marketing, business development, engineering, and product management are some of the departments.
Strategic, structured thinker capable of communicating to a global cross-functional team innovative concepts and business models particular to Africa’s rising markets.

Concerning the job
The Search, Geo, Commerce, and Ads (SGCA) Partnerships team manages content partnerships (e.g., data licensing agreements to showcase better content to users) and action integrations (e.g., collaborations to allow users to do things like reserve a table) for Google’s products across several categories, including Search, Google Assistant, Geo (Maps, Local), News and Publishing, Research, and Machine Intelligence.
As a Strategic Partner Development Manager in Search Product Partnerships with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa, you will design and implement partnerships strategies that will allow Search to fulfill its product goals across a variety of industries. You will collaborate closely with product executives and cross-functional teams to source, facilitate, and execute complex strategic agreements for Google, as well as design go-to-market strategies for scaling new ecosystems.
You will work with the Global Partnerships teams, product owners, and other stakeholders outside of your direct team across Google. You will make decisions with our customers in mind.
Responsibilities
To drive Search-related product collaborations in Sub-Saharan Africa, collaborate closely with Product and other cross-functional teams.
Manage complex arrangements with third-party partners to license high-quality data for the goal of developing or expanding new, compelling Search features.
Design and lead Sub-Saharan Africa’s search growth strategy across numerous sectors and product initiatives.

Create and execute systems and policies to increase Google’s capacity to partner globally; ensuring partners fulfill their contractual responsibilities and that Google provides the necessary support.
