PDP remains the most popular party in Imo State, according to the ex-governor.
“I want to reassure you that I am still loyal to my people’s ideas.” We shall retake Nigeria from the APC in the same manner that they retook it from us. It’s perfectly legal.
“I thank all of our people who have stood firm in the face of adversity. “Hopefully, we’ll be able to recover,” he remarked. On 14 January 2020, Iheodia was unexpectedly removed as governor of Imo by the Supreme Court.

This occurred months after he was sworn in, following the announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that he had won the election.
After a unanimous decision by the seven-member panel, read by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, he was fired.
The Supreme Court agreed that results from 388 polling units in Imo State were improperly removed from the final governorship election results.
Mr Uzodinma polled a majority of the legitimate votes once the results from the 388 polling units were tallied, the supreme court decided, and INEC should have declared him the election winner.
Kekere-Ekun, Justice  who read the judgment, voided the declaration of Mr lhedioha as the winner of the 2019 governorship election.
