Prosecutions for Graduate Who Refuses to

 

This was revealed by the Director General today at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the NYSC and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for the prosecution of the Corps’ criminal cases.

The Service Corps is empowered to punish offenders under Section 13 Subsection 1(a) and (b), according to Ibrahim.
General |brahim, who was represented by the Scheme’s Director Legal Services, Barrister Tijjani Anmed Ibrahim, said that NYSC has had difficulties pursuing some of its cases, but expressed optimism that the cooperation with the NSCDC will put an end to this.

 

He promised that the Scheme would fulfill its obligations under the MOU.
The NYSC helmsman praised the NSCDC for its unwavering support for the Scheme, noting that it was the Corps that pioneered the discovery and deconstruction of a bogus NYSC camp as well as the successful prosecution of the perpetrators.

 

The Commandant General of the Corps, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, informed the NYSC of his organization’s preparedness to support the Scheme in carrying out its purpose during his speech at the ceremony, which took place at the NSCDC headquarters in Abuja. The Commandant, who was represented by Umar Aliyu Mohammed, Director Legal Services of the Corps, also committed to guarantee that the cooperation achieves its goals.
