98% of the population in the US will be able to abandon masks

98% of the population in the US will be able to abandon masks  As COVID eases, 98 percent of the population in the United States will be able to abandon masks.

As of late Thursday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the United States said that approximately 98 percent of the country’s population resides in areas where COVID-19 levels are low enough that people do not need to wear masks inside.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Feb. 25 significantly relaxed its COVID-19 criteria for when Americans should wear masks indoors, stating that they might be dropped in counties with what it defined as low or medium COVID-19 levels.

Last month, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) stated that 70 percent of counties covering 72 percent of Americans will be able to discontinue use of face masks. According to the most recent update, 98 percent of Americans who live in 94 percent of U.S. counties are no longer required to wear masks.

The revised data may provide ammo to critics who want the administration to relax its mask rules on flights, trains, and in transit hubs as a result of the altered figures.

The Biden administration announced earlier on Thursday that, in response to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendation, it had agreed to extend the requirement for travelers to wear masks on airplanes, trains, and in transit hubs until April 18.

According to the decision, mask requirements will be extended by one month, from March 18th to April 18th.

As part of its collaboration with other government organizations, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said it will “help inform a revised policy framework for when, and under what circumstances, masks should be required in the public transportation corridor.”

Just a few days ago, the CDC announced that 85.4 percent of counties, which cover 93 percent of the population, were assessed to have low or medium COVID-19 levels and could therefore avoid wearing masks. The most recent numbers indicate that the number of coronavirus infections has dropped by another significant margin.

Several federal buildings in the Washington area, as well as other locations with low or moderate levels of COVID-19, have been exempted from the obligation to wear a respirator.
