In a recent statement, former President Olusegun Obasanjo called on Nigerians to refrain from supporting or voting for some presidential aspirants who claimed their nomination forms had been purchased for them by organized crime groups.

President Olusegun Obasanjo, speaking at a colloquium to commemorate Pastor Itua Ighodalo’s 61st birthday in Lagos, claimed that the presidential aspirants had lied to Nigerians and should not be allowed to run in the country’s forthcoming presidential election.
In spite of the fact that the former president admitted that the country’s problems were the result of poor leadership, he maintained that youths could not afford the N40 million nomination fee demanded by the aspirants.
