A brief statement regarding the petition states, “Precious Chikwendu, Miss United Nations 2014, cohabited with Femi Fani-Kayode, a man with a history of abusing women. She endured significant mental and physical abuse during their six-year relationship.

On Femi Fani-orders, Kayode’s she was locked up in a mental institution and injected with chemicals so that he could create a circumstance to seize control of her children. Since Precious abandoned her children on August 2, 2020, she has been denied access to them.

“In December 2021, the former minister disregarded a court order granting her access to her children. Precious still does not have access to her children, who are all under the age of six, despite the fact that she has filed a number of lawsuits in the Nigerian judicial system to gain custody of them. She has taken every legal action permitted by her country, but her country has failed her, since the former minister is still free despite evidence of domestic violence, assault, and battery.

“Precious is seeking custody of her children and justice. This law will assist her in bringing her issue to the attention of the international community.”

The petition was filed approximately 48 hours after she had sent a sorrowful, public birthday message to her first son Lotanna.

In an Instagram post, Chikwendu encouraged the public to join the petition, writing, “If you believe we can, then please add your support and share by visiting my bio or using the link below. We would contact all foreign organizations that are reachable, so please do not tire of my request.”

The petition received more than 6,000 signatures, when the aim was 7,500.
