In an interview with the news agency report ‘thenigeriafm.com‘ today, the spokesman for the Tinubu Campaign Organisation, Bayo Onanuga, made the following statement:
The former governor of Lagos state was scheduled to meet with other APC governors, who, according to him, would choose his running mate for the gubernatorial race.

Onanuga stated, “The Vice-President may originate from any region or faith. But the PGF is free to choose. We are all aware that Atiku has not yet selected a vice president. However, he was chosen prior to him. In our case, though, it is a party affair.
“Party leaders will assess the odds and determine how they would balance a Muslim from the South, perhaps with someone from the North-East, North-Central, or North-West. That is the procedure. I am unable to avoid the celebration. The PGF, chaired by Governor Atiku Bagudu, is responsible for selecting a qualified deputy for me,” he stated.
