Scholarships Awarded Both Based on Need and On Merit
Fewer than three percent of first-year candidates are eligible for merit-based scholarships from Wake Forest University. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is responsible for choosing who will receive a merit-based scholarship.
The majority of scholarships, such as the Signature Scholarships that cover the entire cost of attendance, do not require applicants to submit a separate merit-based scholarship application. Instead, students need just submit a complete application by November 15 in order to be considered for admission to the undergraduate program. By the end of March, the finalists for scholarships that call for further in-depth interviews or auditions will be notified of their standing in the competition.
Scholarship programs all celebrate remarkable performance, leadership, and talent, however their criteria may vary significantly from one another. The recipients exemplify the qualities that have helped previous recipients win prestigious awards such as thirteen Rhodes Scholarships, three Marshall Scholarships, twelve Truman Scholarships, over ninety Fulbright Scholars, and a variety of other honors such as Gates, Goldwater, Beinecke, and Luce Scholarships since 1986.

The Wake Forest Scholars Office compiles profiles of students who have previously graduated from merit-based scholarship programs.
There are scholarships given out based on merit that also need a certain level of financial need. Using the Net Price Calculator, a family can get an estimate of the amount of money they will require.
Priority for consideration of applicants will be given to those who submit their forms by the 1st of January. The majority of Wake Forest’s scholarship programs use a student’s level of financial need as one of the selection criteria. It is not necessary to submit separate applications because the recipients are chosen based on the information contained in the admission applications, the FAFSA® application, and the CSS Profile® application. The details of permanently endowed need-based scholarships as well as other awards may be found in the Scholarships Catalog section that can be found below. Only in cases when it is indicated in the scholarship will a separate application be necessary.
Available Merit-Based Scholarships
Merit-Based Scholarships for first-year applicants include the Signature Scholarship Program (full-cost of attendance) scholarships, other scholarships that require an additional application or materials, and other scholarships that do not require any additional application or materials.
