This tier is the only one that supports streaming in 720p and it comes with advertisements (more on that later). You also won’t be able to download content to watch when you don’t have internet access, and you won’t have access to Netflix’s entire library of videos.
I was curious as to how much of an initial financial investment this plan would require of me.
In the United States, the fee for the Basic plan that includes advertisements is $7 per month.
Is there a cap on the number of commercials I’ll have to sit through during this program?
According to Netflix, users who subscribe to its Basic with Ads plan will be exposed to approximately four to five minutes of advertisements for every hour of content. The initial spots for the company’s products typically run between 15 and 30 seconds in length, and they can be seen on television and in theaters before and during broadcasts of movies. The company will make use of “broad” targeting, in which it will customize the advertisements it displays based on factors such as your location and the type of music you prefer to listen to.

Where exactly do you intend to implement this plan?
At the moment, subscribers in the following countries can sign up for the Basic with Ads plan: the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, and Spain. We hope to expand this tier’s availability to additional countries very soon.
I want to upgrade to the new plan, but I’m not sure exactly what steps I need to take.
You can log in to your Netflix account from any device, including your computer or mobile phone, by visiting the Netflix website. To make changes to your subscription, go to the “Account” page of your website and click the “Change plan” button. At that location, you will find a list of the four distinct price tiers that are currently being made available by the company. Once you have confirmed that you want to make the switch, Netflix will immediately upgrade your account to the Basic with Ads plan at the beginning of your next billing cycle.
